How has compression gear helped you perform at your best, whether in training or competition?
Compression gear is an essential part of my training kit. Whether it’s a high-intensity interval session, a long run, or strength work in the gym, wearing SA1NT Layers helps me feel more supported and stable. I notice improved circulation and reduced muscle vibration, which helps delay fatigue and keeps my stride feeling efficient.
"SA1NT Layers has been a standout. The quality of the fabric, design, and the way it feels around my legs, sets it apart. It has a great balance between compression and comfort"
What role does recovery play in your routine, and how does compression gear support that process?
Recovery is everything. In triathlon, it is just as important as a swim, bike or run session. It’s where the real gains happen. Training 20+ hours a week, I put a huge emphasis on recovery between sessions. SA1NT Layers compression gear helps promote blood flow and flush out waste products, which is critical after heavy run or bike sessions. Post-session, I’ll often stay in my compression tights for a few hours to assist with muscle repair and reduce DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).
Can you share a moment where compression helped you push through, either physically or mentally?
During a recent hard threshold run session, I was struggling to maintain pace late in the workout. Wearing my SA1NT Layers compression tights, I felt the consistent muscle support in my hamstrings and quads, which helped hold my form together as I started to struggle. That feeling of being ‘held’ or supported by your training gear, can make a huge difference in performance.
How does SA1NT Layers gear compare to other training or recovery wear you’ve used?
SA1NT Layers has been a standout. The quality of the fabric, design, and the way it feels around my legs, sets it apart. It has a great balance between compression and comfort—you never feel restricted, just supported. Whether it’s a run singlet that breathes well in heat or tights that hold their shape after months of training, I’ve found them to be super reliable.
Why do you think compression is an essential part of any serious athlete’s kit?
When you’re training at a high level, the little things add up. Compression helps protect your muscles, improve blood flow, and support recovery. All reduce the risk of injury. Training as an athlete means backing up sessions day after day, and compression helps this enormously.
What's your top training tip?
Consistency over anything else! Be diligent with your recovery, listen to your body, and trust in the process. Show up each day and do the work. There is no other way around it. And always invest in the basics: nutrition, sleep, and quality gear that supports your training.
